As I’m writing this I’m standing in a mile long Starbucks line at the airport in Knoxville while Zachary stands in line at the American Airlines gate to try to get us back to Tampa today. We came to Tennessee for the weekend when our friends Brad + Rachel invited us to watch the eclipse with them from a state park located on the path of totality. They rented a cabin and we were already planning to be in Alabama this weeekend for a wedding so it was a no brainer! We love to travel and see new places so we were up for the adventure.
The first day Z and I drove to Tenneseee from Alabama and stopped along the way for some scenic photos. Day two we went hiking at Standing Stone State Park and then swimming in waterfalls at Rock Island State Park. Day three we work up early, packed the car with snacks and eclipse glasses and headed to our pre-scouted location to watch the eclipse. That same day we were supposed to fly back to Tampa the night of the eclipse day, but since there were so many other people on the roads we ended up missing our flight by about 11 minutes and they wouldn’t let us board. As I mentioned there are a ton of other people in town for the eclipse and a ton of people that also missed their flights which means the airline doesn’t know when in the next few days they can get us home.
So we are weighing our options, we’re going to try other airlines and I all else fails we might end up renting a car and driving back.
But we saw the eclipse you guys!!! lol that’s the bright side I’m looking at (pun my intended but it’s funny). So I enjoy some photos from our awesome trip!
