Today I am sharing a favorite restaurant in Tampa that is a great option if you want a taste of some traditional Cuban dishes. I was first introduced to this hidden gem when I was invited to a lunch meeting at Carmine’s in Ybor City and since then I have gone back on numerous occassions
for lunch and dinner. Zachary is a big fan of Carmine’s too because he loves a good cuban sandwich and their deviled crab! Even though I eat gluten free I can still eat their Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. I am not even exaggerating when I say its the best Caesar salad I have ever had! I even brought my mom and sister in to try this salad — I think it must be some secret ingredient in their dressing.
On our last trip to Carmine’s we ordered the plantain chips which come with a delicious mole sauce. I got the grilled shrimp Caesar (as always) and Zachary got a meatball sub on cuban bread because he likes to change it up and try new things.
If you have a chance to try it for yourself I highly recommend it — there are tons of ecclectic spots around Carmine’s in Ybor City to check out while you’re there! Enjoy!

Sara
