Hi friends! If you follow on Instagram you saw that I was in Wine Country this past weekend for a bachelorette party and we had the best time! I wanted to share the details of our weekend for those planning similar trips! We flew into San Francisco and rented a van there. We saw a couple sites there then headed to Sausalito for dinner. We drove about an hour to Sonoma to our AirBNB house from there. The first day we had a driver that took us to different vineyards in Sonoma and Napa. The second day we rode our bikes to downtown Sonoma for lunch, shopping, and wine tastings. I will share the full itinerary at the end of the post!
Sonoma is where we spent the majority of our time and it is an absolutely beautiful city. I can’t wait to go back there and to Sausalito! The weather was perfect while we were there and there was so much to see and do. I highly recommend that everyone visits Sonoma once in their life! I also think you could go and not drink at all and still have a great time because the town is so relaxing. But the wine was very good!!
Itinerary
Day One:
Land at San Francisco airport and Pick up Rental Car/Van
Park near Lombard Street in San Francisco (very touristy) and walk down to see all the views of the city
Drive to Baker Beach to snap some beach photos with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background
Drive over the Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito, a beautiful ocean front town, for dinner. We ate dinner at Trident, but there are tons of restaurants to choose from there! The views gave me major Positano vibes.
Head to Sonoma to settle into the AirBNB.
Day Two:
Wake up early and go to the grocery store (Safeway or Whole Foods in Sonoma) to stock up for the weekend. We made breakfast every morning, made dinner twice, and got some champagne, wine, and snacks for the house.
Make a family style breakfast. We did breakfast burritos every morning.
Driver Pick Up!
Spend the afternoon wine tasting at vineyards. We started at Patz and Hall*, then we went to Buena Vista, then Ram’s Gate*, and ended at Domain Carneros. I would recommend doing just two vineyard stops, my favorites have the asterisks next to them. You can order food at Ram’s Gate so that’s a good ending point (Trust me you won’t want to leave)!
Head home and make a family style dinner at the house. Our house had a great outdoor space with a hot tub which was perfect for the evening!
Day Three:
Make a family style breakfast.
Head to downtown Sonoma to explore. Our house had bikes so we rode about a mile to downtown. We shopped at the boutiques, got souvenirs at the Corner Store and walked around.
Lunch at The Sunflower Cafe (gluten free grilled cheese options!)
Wine tastings on Vine Alley
Get some ice cream and/or fudge at The Chocolate Cow
Ride back to the house for dinner (pasta dinner was a big hit)!
Day Four:
Travel Home!
Details:
I will leave some links below for vendors we used.
AirBNB: This is the house we stayed at. It was perfect, the hosts have thought of everything!
Chaffeur Company: The driver drove our rental van and brought us to all the vineyards on day two. They also help with scheduling and vineyard tasting reservations.
**If you have a big group make sure you make reservations at the vineyards ahead of time!**
