DAY ONE: BEACH DAY + OUT TO DINNER
For as long as I can remember I’ve been coming to the Cape every summer with my family. We would make the two hour trek over the bridge and down the two lane high way to get to this little piece of paradise for a few weeks every summer. Now that my siblings and I are older it’s getting harder and harder to coordinate time where we can all make it there for few days at the same time with our parents and significant others. Last year I wasn’t at a place in my life or career where I could make it up for any amount of time which absolutely broke my heart. This summer Zachary and I made it a point to get there. I didn’t care how much the tickets cost or how long it took us to get there I was going to at least spend one day on the beach at the Cape (after all it’s my favorite place in the world)!
We are met with a few obstacles getting there which resulted in a four hour delay and a 1:30am departure from our layover in DC. We arrived at my parents’ house at 330am and had a breakfast date with my grandfather at 8am. Needless to say I am still catching up on sleep from this trip, but it was TOTALLY worth it. We got to spend a few days with the whole family together and I got to see both of my grandparents! #winning
Enjoy some snapshots from my trip and if you’ve never been to the Cape before you have to add it to your bucket list!
