1. What is your blog name? Is there a story around it?
The name of my blog is Sara Magnolia, since this is a life & style blog I thought it would be fitting to have the title reflect a little more depth into my life. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts although I am currently a college senior attending University in sunny Florida. My blog serves as an outlet for myself to express all that goes along with bouncing around the east coast being a twenty-something and finding myself along this journey. I digress, so Sara is my birth name while “Magnolia” comes from the blossoming trees that are an iconic part of southern living. There are magnolia trees outside of my apartment building at school and around my campus, and there are also magnolia trees that grow on the street I grew up on in Massachusetts. I thought that this little connection served as a lovely metaphor to add to my blog title. I have been thinking about the best way to express the meaning of my blog title to my readers on my blog, well here we go!
2. Who is your style inspiration?
Jackie O. is the grand supreme of my style inspirations. Then there’s Kate Middleton, I love her classy and timeless looks plus I wish I was royalty too. I also adore Cara Loren, McKenna Bleu, Blake Lively, and Sarah Vickers to name a few of my style idols. I am easily captivated by fabulous blonde locks which, if you are hair obsessed like myself, you need to check out the first two bloggers listed.
3. If you could choose any one store to shop at your entire life, what store would you have to choose?
This is a tough one, but I will lock in my answer as J. Crew. There is a wide variety of preppy, chic, and classic pieces ranging from casual to professional which makes it the perfect one stop shopping.
4. What are your favorite boutiques?
This is tough, do etsy shops count? If so then I am OBSESSED with Kaitlin Kendall Designs { a.k.a. Katie Bow Head }! She is also a must follow on Instagram @katiebowhead ! She has the cutest patterned bow bracelets and other accessories which most of the time entail GLITTER!
5. How would you describe your style?
I think that my style is a direct influence of the places I have spent the most time in such as New England, Florida, and small influences from my travels to European destinations.
6. What’s your favorite candy?
Anything sour & gummy!
7. What is your favorite social media site?
I am currently a fiend for Instagram.
8. What is your favorite movie?
The Blind Side comes to mind, it really pulls at the heart strings and Sandra Bullock is a lady boss so…
9. What is your go-to winter outfit?
I have barely had a chance to experience a real winter the past few years as I only go home for a few weeks each December, but when I am home I usually attempt to wear all of my cutest winter pieces in a short period of time without much luck because I usually end up freezing. For the sake of an answer I would say, a flannel, jeans, and riding boots. I do love a nice cable knit sweater, vest, and statement necklace combo too!
10. What is your daily arm-candy?
I always wear my Cape Cod bracelet, my seahorse Alex & Ani bracelet, and my Shreve, Crump & Low high school graduation bracelet because I am a creature of habit. I do switch things up occasionally depending on my necklace and earrings because I simply cannot bring myself to mix gold and silver jewelry { call me old fashioned, but I just can’t }.
11. What do you love most about blogging?
I love making connections with people across the globe that I would have never have otherwise had a relationship with! I also love collaborating with other bloggers and bouncing ideas off of one another. I originally started this blog for an academic course in Fall 2014 and never dreamed that I would come as far as I have with this. I have loved the journey thus far and am so excited to see what the future holds.
