Good morning friends!
I hope everyone stayed warm through the blizzard and cold fronts this past weekend. Last week if was hot and humid here in Tampa and then it dropped into the 30’s over the weekend. Florida has crazy weather! We braved the “cold” (lol) to grab lunch on Saturday at bartaco in Hyde Park Village because they just released their eight secret taco, the short rib, so Z and and I had to try it! The consensus is that this is legit one of our favorite tacos now. I hope this gets added to the menu permanently because I will be eating it every time we stop in from here on out.
In other news, it’s been quite some time since I’ve done a life lately post, I think the last one was when I announced that Z proposed! You can read the past ones here, here, here, and here.
ONE. House Hunting
Z and I have been house hunting for months now (if you follow along on snap @saraelizabeth77 you saw some that we looked at this past weekend) with no luck. I had no idea how hard it would be to find a house we both love, that’s updated, in a nice neighborhood, and the list goes on. Not only is it hard to find THE house, but it’s hard when you miss out on a house…or three so far for a variety of reasons. I keep telling myself that we will find the right one eventually, we just have to be patient. Easier said then done especially when you are working with a timeframe in mind though! It’s been an emotional, frustrating, and exhausting process so far. We are so excited about this next chapter in a home that’s ours, but the search is tough. (Props to any readers that work in real estate, I don’t know how you do it!)
TWO. Currently Watching
Z and I have been watching a lot of series’ lately and a few have been too good not to share. Most recently we watched The OA which I found very interesting which is surprising because I’m rarely into anything in the sci-fi/supernatural genre, but this held my attention. I never imagined the world as it is depicted in this show, I liked seeing things from a different perspective. Worth a watch! We also finished all seven season of Shameless in the past couple months. This is now my second favorite show ever after LOST. I like it for the comedy element because it’s hilarious, but also because it depicts people overcoming their environment which I think can be super empowering to people who feel stuck. Also, the female lead is played by Emmy Possum, whom I admire off screen! Other recommendations: Scandal, How to Get Away With Murder, LOST, Weeds, Orange is the New Black… there are more that I can’t think of right now! Leave your recs in the comments below because I need something to watch next!
THREE. Home Decor
I’ve been pinning like crazy to my home decor Pinterest board in anticipation for when we finally move. I’m loving white kitchens, ginger jars, topiaries, adirondack chairs for outdoors, oriental rugs, ornate gold mirrors, wallpaper, accent walls, and basically anything that Studio McGee designs. Their work will be a huge inspiration for how I decorate my home one day! Follow along on Pinterest (pinterest dot com backlash thesaramagnolia) to see what other inspiration I find!
FOUR. Trending
I am obsessed with pastels for winter, stripes, OTK boots, saddle bags, wide brim hats, colorful mittens, fur pom hats, and statement jackets. I’m so excited for my trip to colder weather later this month to get to wear some of these things. Find more of my favorites below:
