IT’S FRIDAY FRIDAY GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY!
Lol, I felt that was necessary to open with in today’s post. I wanted to pop in this morning to provide the world with a little update on our wedding because everyone wants to know when it is and why we haven’t gotten married yet!!
SO as many of you know I got engaged last July and I can’t believe it’s already been 11 months! We knew that before we got married we wanted to buy a house which we did in March. Then we started traveling a lot and honestly haven’t had a chance to plan the wedding because we have busy lives! It’s not that the wedding isn’t a priority because our future marriage is a huge priority to both of us, but we’re not letting society rush us to have a wedding on everyone else’s timeline. Does that make sense? If I had it my way we would have already eloped in Italy, but that’s a no-go. So we are setting our sites on a New England wedding likely next summer 2018. Like I said we aren’t in a huge rush to get married, but now that we’re about to hit the one year mark of engagement we are going to get the ball rolling on planning it (also because whenever I go home the first question I get asked is “when’s the wedding?!”)!
So the first step is planning the aesthetic of the wedding. I really like neutral colors and pastel blues and pinks. I am super “vanilla” so simple bouquets and details are what I’m feeling. I love these blue and white plates for the table settings. I NEED those! I’d ideally like to carry the color scheme and aesthetic of the wedding throughout all of the bridal and wedding festivities like showers and such! I want everything down to the smallest details to be cohesive because I am OCD like that, and since it’s 2017 we have cool things like Snapchat geofilters that exist so that’s happening. WeddingWire has a bunch of pre-made ones specifically for wedding festivities. I’m thinking either the laurel wreath or one of the Tuckernuck filters! Good thing I won’t have to pick just one because I’ll have one for every occasion (i.e. bach weekend, bridal shower, welcome dinner, rehearsal dinner, wedding….) is that excessive? 😉
I’m getting really excited to start planning now that we are settled into our house and have summer travel plans finalized. We already have our photographer picked out because that’s the most important detail in my book! I’m looking forward to sharing all of the planning as it unfolds with you all up to the big day! Have a wonderful weekend! Happy Fourth!
