Hi friends! Welcome back! I mentioned it a few times on Instagram recently that I’d be answering some of my most frequently asked questions in a blog post this week. I’ve been getting a lot of the same questions via DM too so I figured I’d address them all here since many of you have the same questions. If I don’t get to your question today I apologize. I tried my best to aggregate all the questions I got this month.
Q: Where is your honeymoon?
A: We have nothing planned yet. We are not those people that will be going straight from our wedding to the honeymoon. I think I will be way too tired for that. We are going to Charleston for the entire week of our wedding which will be a nice little retreat. We are planning on a couple mini-moons (Canada and Cumberland Island are on the short list) this year and then summer 2019 we will most likely be headed to Europe.
Q: Where are the glasses from on your kitchen shelves? See them HERE or above.
A: We got them at an antique shop locally. They are called Wexford glassware and we have a bunch of them. I love collecting antique plates, glasses, and serving dishes. Wexford is a favorite along with depression glass, and Wedgwood. You can find the exact same crystal Wexford glasses HERE.
Q: How did you get into blogging?
A: I started this blog as a course requirement senior year of college and we had to share it on social media. People that I didn’t know started following me on Instagram and I was getting website traffic from states where I didn’t have any connection. I had a brand reach out to me to send me clothes within the first few months too. It was totally insane to me that people found me interesting and not what I was expecting to happen from a class assignment! I have kept up with it since then (it will be 4 years in October I believe) and I still can’t believe it!
Q: How do I start a blog?
A: I think it’s a huge learning experience. No one has all the answers when they start and you’ll get frustrated and make mistakes. That’s ok and all part of the experience. There are other bloggers out there that have written posts about getting started which you can find here and here. I am not a blogger’s blogger where I have posts about this stuff. I have a WordPress site hosted on BlueHost. I own my domain name. I have a customizable theme that I use. Luckily I knew HTML and WordPress before I started otherwise I would’ve been so lost. I’ve learned most of everything I know through google and youtube! The first step is starting! Even if your site isn’t perfect it’s more important to start your journey sooner rather than later!
Q: Can you give an update on your eyelash extensions?
A: I still have them and love them. I get volume lashes at my fills every 2-3 weeks. I never use mascara and only use eyeliner 1-2 a month for a night out. I noticed that my urban decay eyeshadow primer makes them fall out faster since it is oily. I never pull, wipe, or tug on them. I only brush them with a spooly. Eyelash extensions are 50/50 application and how you take care of them. It is so important that you go to someone who knows what they’re doing and that you take care of them! There are so many people that do lashes now, but it’s important to go to an expert. I go to Danielle at Wexford House and I’ve also heard good things about LashInk here in Tampa.
Q: What are you doing for workouts to get ready for the wedding?
A: I go to spin 2-3 times a week. I try to fit in as many sweats as I can at Sweatology Studio. I was doing BBG and loved how fast I got toned from it, but I totally fell off the wagon because I don’t have enough time for everything!
That’s all for now, but if you have more questions for me make sure you’re following along on Instagram @thesaramagnolia because I pulled most of these from DMs! I will try to do one of these next month too!
Enjoy your weekend!
