The fact that it is already mid-July is astounding, where has the time gone? I have plans to head back home towards the end of August which I am really looking forward to, so for me I’d say there’s still a lot of summer fun to be had. I put together a list of some things that I want to do before the summer ends.
- Go kayaking: This is one of my favorite water activities because it so peaceful and gives you an up close perspective with the spot you’re paddling through. When I lived in Massachusetts I would frequently kayak in local ponds and stop to explore small islands in the middle. It was always a huge bonus when we’d find a rope swing (my favorite!). Florida has some insane kayaking spots that I really want to check out because I have never gone kayaking here! I am thinking Crystal River because the water is so clear you can see to the bottom and there are manatees swimming below you.
- Go to a concert: While I am home in August I am going to see Zac Brown band with my sister. So this one will definitely get accomplished!
- Go berry picking: I am going to miss out on apple picking this fall again because they don’t grow in Florida. So I am compensating for that by picking berries this summer. I am still on the hunt for a you-pick berry patch located near Tampa, so if you have recommendations send them my way, please!
- Go zip lining: A couple months ago a zip-lining spot opened nearby and I was so excited because this is something I’ve always wanted to try. This is definitely an adventure I will capture in a blog post to share how it goes.
- Visit a museum: Growing up close to Boston there were always so many museums to visit and explore. I have also been to many of the museums in New York City (favorite: Museum of Natural History) and Washington D.C. (favorites: International Spy Museum and National Air & Space Museum), but since moving to Florida I have totally slacked on visiting any of the ones here. If you’ve visited any in the Tampa/St. Pete area I’d love to hear your suggestions!
I hope this inspires you to get out and make the most of the beautiful weather and time you have this summer. If you have suggestions you’d like to share or want to chat feel free to send me a note via email at thesaramagnolia@gmail.com.
Sending Sunshine,
Sara

Kayaking sounds like a blast! I’ve never been, but I’ve always wanted to. There’s a river where I live that you can float down in inner tubes (which I did last weekend), but I saw a ton of people kayaking. Awesome list!
