I got the idea for Z’s Christmas gift over the summer while we were walking by some art galleries on the Cape. I saw a painting that was a bird’s eye view of some car’s driving down a country road and I thought to myself, I need to remember this because I want to create something similar for Z for a gift! He is a big car guy so I wanted to incorporate his mustang into the idea. So as Christmas was approaching I was trying to decide on my vision and execution for the artwork. I ended up hiring Brick Creative to do the drone photography and I came up with an elaborate white lie to get Z to St. Pete in the mustang for the shoot. We told him we were shooting some video clips of us driving near the water for a tourism bureau and he totally believed us (sorry babe)!
The day of the shoot came and we arrived in St. Pete just before sunrise to meet up with the Brick Creative team. I had a very specific vision for how I wanted the photo and they nailed it! I was hoping for one good one that I would frame and give to Z, but there were so many amazing ones it was hard to choose. I decided to frame my favorite one in black and white with a deckled edge as the final gift! My family had been telling Z that I got him a puppy for Christmas so I was a little worried he would be disappointed, but he was pleasantly surprised! He was so shocked and a little confused when he opened it, but ultimately it was a total hit. I had to tell him that there was never any tourism bureau video shoot, it was all a ploy to get him there for this photo, ha!
I am so excited to have this custom artwork of us hanging in our home for years to come!
