Welcome to wedding week on the blog! I am SO excited to share my big day with you all! I’m going to break everything up over the course of the week to try and give you as much information as possible! Today I’m starting off with talking about how I prepared my hair and skin leading up to the big day!
Skin Care Regiment
Let me start by saying that I have combination skin which means some parts are oily and some parts are dry. Thankfully I don’t deal with much acne but I do have rosacea on my face which I wanted to try to get under control so it’d be less reactive. I started preparation probably 5-6 months out for my skin. I started getting bespoke facials every three weeks during that time period. Prior to the wedding prep I would get a facial every once in awhile as a way to relax. These facials were super fluffy and not really doing anything that my skin needed. So for the wedding I switched where I was going for facials because I needed a facial that catered to what my skin needed! I started going to Apothecary Skin Therapy and she has changed my skin! I buy all of my skincare products from my esthetician because I really like the lines she carries and even her products that she makes in-house. I started using these products in the months leading up to my wedding day and still use all of them! I use this face wash, this exfoliating wash, this moisturizer, this face oil, and this for my lips. I found that switching to these products intended for sensitive skin that are gluten free has made a huge difference in my skin. Also, having an esthetician who knows my skin and does these bespoke treatments every month also made a world of a difference! For my wedding day makeup artist I used Ciara Rene based in Tampa! She was the third makeup artist I did a trial with because I had a rough time finding someone in South Carolina. So when the original plan was still to get married in Charleston I was actually having Ciara travel up there to do my wedding makeup because she is so good!
Hair Care Routine
I’ve been seeing the same hair stylist (you can find Ashley here) for over two years now I believe and just like with my skin, going to the same person makes a huge difference! I used to flop around hair stylists and my hair was destroyed! Right now my hair is the longest and healthiest it’s ever been. I go in for a toner and hair treatment about every three weeks and I get a “dusting” (light trim) and my balayage refreshed about every six weeks. I have very dry and course hair which makes it look thick, but it’s actually fairly thin. It’s been a process to get my hair to not be frizzy in this Florida heat! I finally feel like I’m making progress with these products below. On my wedding day I used Anna from Style Hair and Makeup for my hair. We had never met before and didn’t get to do a trial since our wedding day plans drastically that week due to the hurricane. She came highly recommended from one of my trusted friends and she is a hair wizard! She is insanely talented and all my bridesmaids were in love with their hair. I literally showed her two pictures of what I was going for with my hair and she killed it! Absolutely perfect!

Work Outs
In preparation for the wedding I was doing the keto diet, going to spin class multiple times a week and also going to Sweatology. I used this combination of things to try to reduce inflammation, tone, lose some weight, and reduce swelling in my cheeks! I felt amazing from the routine I got into and ended up losing about twenty pounds but more importantly I could see my abs peeking out for the first time, ha!
I hope this post was informative and helps any brides to be with their wedding preparation! I am so excited to share more tomorrow! Xo Sara
