Today’s post will be a bit longer than normal, but it’s worth the read because I am recapping our weekend trip to Amelia Island, Florida. Zachary and I went to visit for our anniversary and loved exploring this quaint coastal town. We arrived early in the afternoon and decided to drive down Centre Street which is downtown and runs perpendicular to the water. We parked and walked around for a few hours scoping out places to eat and shop over the weekend. There were so many beautiful old buildings and cute shops!
WHERE WE ATE:
- Amelia Island Coffee
- Timoti’s Seafood Shack
- The Crab Trap
- David’s (this place was AMAZING and had GF pasta so I could enjoy some seafood linguine)
- Fantastic Fudge
- Places we didn’t make it to this trip, but want to try next time include Patio Place, Espana, Le Clos, Gilbert’s Underground Kitchen, and Lucas.
THINGS WE DID:
- Saturday Morning Farmer’s Market
- Cumberland Island Tour via Amelia Island River Cruises
- Antique Shops (Personal favorite was Eight Flags Antique Market)
WHERE WE STAYED:
We stayed at the Fairbanks House which is located in the Historic District of Fernandina Beach and was built in 1885. Today it operates as a bed & breakfast and is conveniently located in walking distance to bakeries, restaurants, downtown, and the water. This was our first time staying at a B&B and we will probably never stay at another hotel again if we can help it. The owners who run Fairbanks House we extremely hospitable towards us throughout our entire stay and knowledgable about the area. Breakfast was served family style in the morning in the dining room with all the other guests which was fun to get to know everyone else staying there. The hosts were kind enough to accommodate my GF dietary needs so I ate like a queen! Additionally, they served us and the other guests during a social happy hour with hors d’oeuvres every evening before everyone went their separate ways for dinner. We will definitely be going back.
I hope this gives you the travel bug! See more from this trip on Instagram @thesaramagnolia and if you follow me on snapchat then you’ll never miss out on where I am going next (@saraelizabeth77).

P.S. Shoutout to my blogger friend who is lucky to call this beautiful place home, McKenzie, for all of her recommendations for our trip!
